“There's a certain appeal to a Victorian-era hotel right on Eastbourne's beachfront. Though some areas show their age, the staff's friendliness and the updated rooms provide a counterbalance, especially if you're seeking a straightforward, pet-friendly stay near the sea.”

Good Stay with Seaside Charm

quick check-in sea view
Check-in was quick. My room offered great views of the sea. I enjoyed coming back to the hotel after a long day (the location is superb, by the way). The room was clean, and everything was in good working order.
Facilities
8/10
The hotel has a small gym. It has three treadmills and two stationary bikes for guest use. The pool area includes twenty loungers. A shaded section offers respite from the sun.
Rooms
9/10
My room included two separate sinks and a rainfall shower. The wardrobe contained ample space for clothing. I had a useful desk area with accessible power outlets. The room also had blackout curtains.
Location
10/10
The hotel is near the beach. The beach is easily accessible. The town centre with shopping and dining options is close. Public transportation links are nearby.
Dining
9/10
The hotel restaurant offers a daily breakfast buffet (especially the pancakes!). The buffet has a selection of hot and cold dishes. There are options for both continental and cooked breakfasts. Fresh fruit and pastries are available.

sea view tea coffee good location unfriendly receptionist communal area rubbery eggs
I booked directly. I received an upgrade from a single room to a double room with a sea view. It was appreciated. The room included a shower, a bath, and tea and coffee. The location is good. It is a walk to the town centre and rail station. There are two Wetherspoons nearby.
The receptionist was not friendly upon arrival, disappointing. I was told I had to eat in my room with my dog, as dogs are not allowed in communal areas. I found this unacceptable. The meals seemed average, and my eggs were rubbery ONE morning.

Wonderful Stay with Fantastic Location

sea view clean room buffet selection
My large room had a wonderful view of the sea. The pier was visible from the window. I found the room very clean and it looked recently renovated. The buffet selections provided ample variety and tasty options. The hotel is situated right on the seafront. Many shops are a short walk away!
I noticed the beer pipes were cleaned early at 22:00. There was no draft alcohol available after that.
